What questions should you ask your pharmacist?
Make sure you understand the details about how your medication should be used.
Ask: What is the medicine for? How do I take it? How long should I take it? Should I make changes to my diet while I take it?
Check that the medication is the best option for you.
Ask: What side effects can occur? Is it ok to use this medication with other medications I use? How should it be stored?
Ask about other options
The last thing to ask the pharmacist is about other options. If you will have difficulty with the medication for any reason like a side effect, cost, frequent dosing, or diet restrictions, there might be a different medication the pharmacist can recommend to your prescriber.
If you notice problems after you start taking your medication you should talk to your pharmacist or prescriber about it. Sometimes bothersome side effects can go away with a dose or medication change.
